This is the fastest measurement (netperf) that I've seen.  I did not
do the testing myself.  Configuration:

  735/125                 FORE switch           755/99
  1 J2802A ATM card       ASX 200               1 J2802A ATM card
  UTP5 155Mbps ---------- OC3 modules --------- MMF 155 Mbps

Netperf command line:

  ./netperf -l60 -t TCP_STREAM -H atm_san -- -m 8192 -s 57344 -s 57344

Result throughput was 82.18 10^6bps.  More generally, performance seems
to level off messages 2048 bytes or larger.  Perhaps having two 735/125 
systems with more memory would deliver better performance.
