It is my understanding that until the new Open Transport software is
available, no high speed serial data transfer will be possible. Apple is
working furiously to make 100+ Mb possible. My company, Interphase
Corporation, is now shipping beta sites our PCI ATM adapters, and working
on an Apple driver. We are shipping production Sbus ATM adapters now, and
have achieved 155 Mb on similar adapters with that product. I think Fore
has a NuBus ATM adapter, but it will not be fast without the new system
software. Not aware of their PCI plans, but lots of people will be
offering PCI ATM in the future.
