Re: associated signalling

Hi,

I got some answers from the internet. But what is the significance of associated signalling? Why do
we need that? Is it because of some software/hardware constraints? (which doesn't seem like)

Thanks.

Johnson

P.S.: Please reply by email, as my news server is quite slow in feeding news. Thanks.

Here is the summary:

********************************************************************************
It means that using this signalling channel you can signal only those VCIs
which belongs to the VPCI used by the signalling channel.

Try "Common-channel signalling" a book by Manterfield, Richard J.

********************************************************************************
Associated signalling (or VP associated signalling) uses a signalling
control channel for each path (the "associated" path)

Non-Associated signalling uses a single signalling control channel for all
paths.
