If depend of the connection. When you have a LANE Ethernet with edge
device (connect old Ethernet at ATM) the max packet is 1516 byte . For
the same raison the max packet for LANE TokenRing is 18kB. =


If you use just ATM with LANE the limitation is the max AAL5 packet
length. But on LANE Ethernet on 802.3 he have the lenght on the frame
for packet over 1516 bytes this field is zero, for not probleme with
auto sensive ETHERNET II ou ETHERNET 802.3
