ATM test procedures?

We are in progress of setting up an ATM testbed using FORE and 3Com ATM
switches.

What test procedures would you recommend performing to compare the two
vendors?

We plan on using our SONET OC-12 backbone to connect two Switches, and then
have them connect to a router to test IP connectivity between the two sites
via OC-3 connections.

Things I am looking at testing are;

Call-setup/tear-down of SVC's
bandwidth utilization 
dropped packets(if any)
LANE performance

Any ideas??
