If I am wrong then what is cell arrival time? In I am right then can someone explain what is the meaning of the following stats which I hv collected using an HP BSTS eqpt. I send a burst of ATM cells ( say 2000 ) at 2.5Mbps from the BSTS. I hv an ATM switch connected to this which further passes on the traffic to a CPE. The CPE has a capability of looping back whatever it recvs on a particular VCI. I use this to loopback the traffic I send, back to the BSTS for me to examine. Now, when I collect the Cell Arrival Time stats, I get a figure of mean = 300ms with a variance = 3000 for some x number of cells. My question is how can cell arrival time be 300ms for a certain number of cells being recvd. Is it the time taken by the cells to come back to the source or what? 'Cos Cell Arrival Time shud be an absolute number like 17:54:30 or something like that. I am unable to understand this number which I get. I tried looking up the help of the HP eqpt but cudn't get very far. If someone can explain those numbers, it wud be a big help. Thanks.
