hello :
 
        Most of the literature I review indicate fiber optics link has
very bit low  error rate. Moreover, ATM protocol can correct up to one bit
error in the header. So if ATM network use fiber optics link, the
probability of
two bits error or more in the same header (therefore the cell will be
discard) is very low.
 
 
        the above statement is ambiguous to me. there are few literature
 
        show that errors occur in burst.
 
        My question as follow :
 
        can anybody refer me to work that state what is the probability
        of cell lost due to two or more bits error in the cell header.
