E1 2Mbit Network Module problem, ASX-1000

We have a problem with the following configuration: There are two ATM
switches (Fore ASX-1000) connected to eachother with a 2Mbit structured E1
between the two. Both switches contain the NM-4/E1D network module. Voice is
possible over this connection, however with a delay and the quality isn't
very well. Should we use an unstructured 2Mbit connection (this is a WAN
connection) instead of the structerd leased line or should we use the network
module with circuit emulation with this structured E1-link? The quality of
the voice is ok when the two switches are connected together directly
(without the E1 with its own protocol, probably).

When you have an answer, please send mail to g.hoeben@usa.net
