S/W & H/W for a TCP/IP over ATM application

Hi,

I am newly introduced into the ATM world. I have an application that
requires connecting a small number of computers (initialy only 2, no
more than 5)over an ATM small network (UTP, 155Mbps).
The computers (processors) are from the PowerPC family running Wind
River's VxWorks OS,with the (FTP & NFS) TCP/IP protocols.

Any information/comments on any of the following topics will be
appreciated:

1.are there any available S/W packages that will handle the ATM layers
and interface easily with VxWorks Operating System (Any known S/W
vendors)?
2.Is there a need for an ATM switch when connecting 2 end computers?
3.What ATM chipsets are available for a PCI bus, how are they supported
by S/W drivers ?
4.What can I expect as the effective Bandwidth of the channel (with only
2 end points) when using TCP/IP over ATM?
5.Any general info about TCP/IP over ATM.

Thanx

Alon
