Hi , I introduce myself, my name is Joan, I have been studiing Telecommunicacions la Salle in Barcelona. I am working in a simulation with OPNET about the transport of MPEG2 over ATM as a final project, but our school has recently bought this simulator so we are right now begining to study the Tutorial, I hope to finishto read the 14 or 15 books before I reach the sixties! By now, what I've done is study the MPEG2 mechanism of compression, which parameters one can adjust to give at the network a certain bit rate and image quality. Also I've studied the way that it encapsulates the frames in Transport streams and next it is taken by the highest layer of the ATM protocol. Now I try to find out which things I can do with the OPNET, then I'll choose between a ATM VBR, CBR, BWRenegotiation,... My first idea of the simulation is create an environment with a Video Server, some ATM switches in serie, and at the end, the customer watching a MPEG2 movie, executing VCR functions like Fast forward, changing movie,.... you know.
