Soft PVC Vs. PVC

I want to know the chances of PVC surving the advent of soft PVC
standardization.

1. Will PVC end up being a dormant feature in the longer run - with soft
PVC being extensively used in its place. Pros and cons??
2. Or will both of them coexist - as both of them have inherent
disadvantages that are taken care of by the other. What are the possible
advantages and disdsadvantages of the two techniques.
