QoS interface for Highler layer in LAN Emulation (LEC)

Hello ,

I have some queries related to QoS interface to Higher layer in LANE v2.
These are releted to ATM Forum LAN Emulation version 2
.(af-lane-0084.000) specs .

1. The QoS parameters are provided by higher layer to LANE(LEC ) through
Qos handle which points to a Qos set . If we have a higher layer
(LLC) on which IP based
applications are running (Eg : FTP/Telnet) how can we test QoS
related services provided
by LANE on this kind of setup ?

2. Is there any standard interface defined which can map dynamically the
Higher layer requirements (Type of service expected by LLC/Application )
into LANE QoS parameters ?
This will help LEC to decide which ATM service catagory(UBR/ABR) to use
when signalling VCC for
applications like ping/telnet/FTP etc .

3. Are there any standard applications that can run on IP|LLC|LANE stack
which expects ABR service form LEC ?

Am I missing something here? Please reply if you have any ideas .

Thanks ...

Kind regards ,
Saleem
