Hi Michael, Michael E. Is everything moved to the Atm 'connection', e.g. voice > is put in AAL1 or is voice still kept in the 'old' lines ? B-ICI 2.1 was made to support the same capabilities as UNI 3.1. This means that it does not include the signalling parameters to set up voice connections over AAL1 as standardized by the ITU-T in Recommendations Q.2931 (DSS2), Q.2761-2764 (B-ISUP), Q.2660 (sig. interworking with SS7) and I.580 (transport interworking with SS7). UNI4.0 and PNNI1.0 signalling of ATM Forum have this support, though. ATM Forum also has specs for voice over ATM (AAl1 and AAL5) as well as trunking specifications (multiple voice channels over one ATM connection). Marc de Lignie KPN Research |
