I have used switches which run a LEC and LES, BUS, LECS together. The
LEC is used as an ethernet - ATM gateway where the physical connection
to
the switch can be 10 base-T ethernet or ATM (25 or 155). The LEC was
also
used to support management and configuaration functions in the
switch/network
that used IP protocols.

One switch I remember was the Madge Collage 280. Otherwise look for
info on
switches supporting both ethernet and ATM connections.

Hope this helps,
Gary.
