According to the ILMI Spec., you may register more than one ESI.
This may be restricted by the switch's implementation, though.

Our current FORE switches do accept multiple ESIs. The ASX-200 is an
older model, though, so I I can't tell.

Why should it give you such a hard time to check? If you have
access to the switch's AMI, there is some command to show you which
addresses have been registered. Anyway, if you receive calls for both
addresses, registration was okay.
