IMA question

IMA is both Nortel Proprietary and ATM Forum standard. However, it is
not commonly seen in documentation like ARG training book. From Passport
guide, IMA can be configured between two PP and between PP and 3rd party
switch. Looking at the ATM Forum specification, IMA is a Nortel Patent.
So, how common is IMA seen in other vendor’s equipment?
