Usually in DSL world the service providers use PPPoA between the
customer and the BRAS for authentication and address assignment. If
you are using IPOA without PPP then you can assign using DHCP or
BootP.

If you understand PPP then dont worry about IPoA it's just a way of
getting the bits from customer to BRAS. If you need to understand the
workings of IPoA then I sugggest you start at www.atmforum.org
