Not quite so specific. I stated (if you're referring to the VENUS
presentation) that link level short cuts do not result in nice
things when you apply them to multicast. This is not MARS vs NHRP
per-se. 

The void you feel is that NHRP's benefits are at times overstated,
because they're often couched in terms of access to QoS of ATM, without
clear identification of the fact that short-cuts only scale bearably
when used for unicast. While I must admit I didn't see Derya's
applicability presentation, your concerns suggest that the applicability
statement's language might benefit from clarification of NHRP's
limitations too?

.... that audio and video end to end does not depend on short-cuts.
If it is QoS-sensitive traffic, it will be depending on RSVP and 
Intserv solutions at all L3 hops, including those between
LISes/Clusters.
