Yes.  An additional tip:  when using vic, sliding the Quality bar to
the right (from default 10 towards highest quality 1) improves the
resolution of the image.  We experimented this past week during the
AUV 96 multicast and found that qualities of 2 or 3 were plenty
adequate to produce readable video.  Bringing Quality back down during
discussions was similarly helpful by capturing more of peoples'
gestures and expressions.

As usual, slides which are unreadable to people in the room (too busy, 
font too small, etc.) also tend to be unreadable over video.
