Peoples,

Following up on yesterdays announcement, an experimental MARS Client
is now available in part source, part object code form. It is currently
only available for Sparc/SunOS4.1.4 environments. The MARS Client
provides a new "maa0" interface which you ifconfig like a normal
IP interface. It provides a moderately functional ATMARP service
to support IP unicast, and implements a substantial fraction of
the MARS spec to support IP multicast.

The supplied source code provides a 'wrapper' that
uses FORE's Forethought 3.0.1 API and Bellcore's Q.Port(tm)
Portable ATM Sigaling Software. Documentation is supplied to allow
alternative ATM APIs and Signaling stacks to be used.

The URL is:

This effort was funded in part by the Naval Research Laboratory
(NRL) and the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA).

cheers,
gja
