A Revised Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts
directories. This draft is a work item of the IP Over Asynchronous Transfer
Mode Working Group of the IETF.

Title : IP over ATM: A Framework Document
       Author(s) : R. Cole, D. Shur
       Filename : draft-ietf-ipatm-framework-doc-01.txt
       Pages : 27
       Date : 02/22/1995

The discussions of the IP over ATM working group over the last several
years are summarized. The summary is provided in the form of a framework
which categorizes the various ATM subnet models and End-to-End models
identified and deemed of primary interest by the IP over ATM working group.
The intent of this framework was, and still is, to help partition the
efforts of the working group in order to focus on smaller, more manageable
aspects of IP over ATM. This is necessary due to the number of ATM
sub-networks and End-to-End types being discussed. A second goal of this
document is to serve as an introduction to and overview of the area of IP
and ATM interworking. In summary, it is hoped that this document, in
classifying the sub-network and end-to-end models, has helped (and will
continue to help) in focusing the IP over ATM working group's direction.

Send a message to: mailserv@ds.internic.net. In the body type:
     "FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-ipatm-framework-doc-01.txt".

NOTE: The mail server at ds.internic.net can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e., documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
      how to manipulate these messages.

For questions, please mail to Internet-Drafts@cnri.reston.va.us.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version
of the Internet-Draft.
