Fred,
It is great to hear the interest in RSVP and the demand for
real time services in internet. I hope the phone keeps ringing.
Do you believe most everyone understands new hardware, new software,
etc. will be required to provide real time services in internet
and it is not the good old IP that most everyone knows and loves.
End station SW/HW needs to be upgraded, switched LANs will be
needed, and a new backbone needs to emerge?
Of course I am referring to the availability of quality voice and
video services that require advanced scheduling and potentially
a lot of hardware support. For these applications, I don't believe
a simple software upgrade to current IP backbone will do any good.
