Excellent question Nuno.  I and some colleagues have been discussing this in
BT for a while.  Indeed one of my colleagues has a Rapportuership for this
very issue in ITU SG13.  Only problem is finding the time to set it all down
for IP and MPLS.....but it really ought to be done at some point, and the
sooner the better.

I don't really want to open a debate up here on specific functional entities
(ie like the ones you suggested in your response), but I will flag this up
internally to my collegues and try to see if we can get some action going on
this.  I know there are lots of people tuned-in to this list who understand
the benefits of func arch descriptions and I am sure would like to see some
activity here.
