Hi David,

Reg the LDP maybe what he means is that TDP was in production for a
while while LDP relatively shorter. But I think what you are planning to
do - meaning - to implement LDP is a good decision and will not require
you to transition from TDP into LDP in the future. 

(Even Cisco's general direction is LDP - no new features will be
implemented in TDP and at some point - not really close but some day it
will be removed).

Rubbish. Both LDP & TDP require IP routing protocol link state or
distance vector.
