Title:
Hi ,
I have some doubts in the draft " draft-katz-yeung-ospf-traffic-04.txt ". I request you to clarify them.
Section 2.4:
Q. An Opaque LSA will contain one TLV. It will be either Router TLV or Link TLV.
So when processing the Opaque LSA containing the Link TLV how do we know to which router link belongs to ?
Is it based on the Advertising Router field of the LSA header ( See 2.3.1 LSA header ) ?
If so what is the need for sending Router Address TLV in a Opaque LSA ?
Q. Whether a opaque LSA contains a router TLV followed by a set of link TLVs which described the links of the router
originating the LSA ?( This of course contradicts what is mentioned in Section 2.4 )
Q. A Link TLV describes a TE attributes of a link. In the Link TLV I find the field for storing Local Interface Address
or Remote Interface address is of size 4*N bytes. That means more than one local interface address or
remote interface address is used to describe the link.
i. Can there be more than one local / remote interface address associated with the link?
ii. There might be many logical addresses ( IP ) associated with a physical address ( MAC ). Are all these logical addresses, the ones that get filled in the Link TLV describing the link ?
iii. In a LINK TLV is the number of local interface addresses equal to the number of remote interface addresses
( Assuming multiple local interface addresses are added per link TLV )?
iv. In case of multiple local interface addresses being associated with the link, how to determine the corresponding
remote interface address?
v. Suppose in the link TLV, multiple Local and remote interfaces ( say n each ) addresses are sent.
For i < n, ith Local interface address corresponds to ith Remote interface address in the Link TLV. Is this TRUE?
Your answers to the above questions will be of great help to me.
Thanking you in advance,
with best regards,
L N NAGENDRA PRASAD
