Raghu,

I agree with you, VPN related mechanisms like peer discovery are not there yet for Layer 2.
Is there any work going on in this area. I heard that the MPLS forum is doing some work on this.
Can you through some light on this.

Not sure where Cisco is headed wrt L2VPN....

Transporting layer 2 over MPLS is simple(the martini draft has most of the
dtailes ironed out), but the VPN related mechanisms like membership,
reachability are difficult and layer 3 VPN implementations have it
currently, not layer 2..
