Hi List,

I have 2 very generic but fundamental questions:

1. "A cardinal principle of Transport networks is that a failure in the
Control Plane should not result in a failure in the Data Plane."

So if I have a GMPLS network with ,say, 4 nodes and the Control Plane in the
Egress goes down. How is this handled?

Any draft that specifies how this is handled?

2.If the Ingress sends a PATHTEAR to tear down the path, then the last node
would detect LOL much before the PATHTEAR reaches it.
Then would this not lead to a situation in the network where the
Intermediate Nodes are flooded with Alarms ? And how would they know if this
is a TEAR situation or a genuine Node failure situation leading to a
Restoration situation?

           Yours,
             Vamsi
