The MPLS-OPS Archive[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Date Index][Thread Index][Author Index][Subject Index] RE: Problems with Redistribution EIGRP into BGP
We have done this for quite a few large customers running EIGRP in their
networks.
You may want to check if there is any backdoor issues within customer
network. In some case, customer has a backdoor between two sites, and the
backdoor is preferred over the MPLS network because the internal EIGRP
routes (AD: 90) is preferred over the external EIGRP routes (AD: 170)
redistributed from EBGP no matter what metric it is. You could adjust this
on the CE.
Other issues are like asymetric routing. Customers may not get the paths
they like (not necessary the best path) especially when you have route
reflector in place in MPLS network. Of course you can customize your
network design to meet customer needs.
One more thing you can check with Cisco is that, when they are going to
support EIGRP over PE-CE?

Subject: [MPLS-OPS]: Problems with Redistribution EIGRP into BGP
Hi Team,
I have a Network Internal with EIGRP ( Cisco Equipment), My customer wants
to connect to MPSL Network ( By Alestra AT&T), As you know only four
protocols could be used to connect to MPLS Network ( RIPv2, Static Route,
OSPF and BGP ). Alestra said us that We used BGP.
The topology is the next:
------------------------------------
----------- -------------
/
----------------- -----------------------
-
/ / / /
/ / / /
/ /
/ / --------------------- / /---------------- /
/------------------ / /------------------ /

----------- -------------
/
---------------- ---------------------
-------------------------------------
EIGRP Network CE-1
MPLS Network CE-2 EIGRP Network
AT&T
We set E-BGP between CE and the MPLS Network, We have 15 CE around the MPLS
Network.
The VPN´s works fine, Beacuse all the CE´s look on the VPN. But some routes
the router doesn´t updates in some routers.
We redistribuit EIGRP into BGP, so we think that the problem is for
redistribution from EIGRP to BGP.....
Do you have some example or tip ????
Did somebody have the same case or problem ?????
