In case of BGP-MPLS, how interface are defined at PE and at CE.Like if_1 ,if_2 and if_3 are  interfaces of site1 site2 and site3 at PE roting table for directly connected sites1,2,3.but there r some internal interface like if_x and if_z which r defined at CE routing tables that i guess if_x for figuring out if packet is destined for same site and if_z if packet is destined for site connected via VPN.

my question is how these interfaces are defined and when interface information is mapped to packet?? or on which bases CE decides its a if_x or if_z and also how Pe decides its if_1 or if_2 ???
