As far as i understand  the initial question, they don't have to support
subinterfaces, since it's only the pe-pe connection. if you configure ppp as
the encapsulation protocol then i see no reason why it shouldn't support
mpls.
regarding the question itself, personally i found pri connectivity between
routers to be unstable in more then 4 b channels.
