Here are a few good white papers to start with. http://www.isocore.com/resources.htm good Luck Khalid -----Original Message----- From: Romass Pauliks [mailto:Romass.Pauliks@lattelekom.lv] Sent: Tuesday, September 10, 2002 2:37 AM To: mpls-ops@mplsrc.com Subject: RE: [MPLS-OPS]: MPLS network design and implementation Dear Sir, Please let me introduce myself first. My name is Romass. I am a student in Riga Technical University, Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, Riga, Latvia. I major in Telecommunication Engineering. I am very interested in Networking concept, technology, and its application. Now, I am doing study about Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) for my final assignment. I have read some internet draft from http://www.ietf.org and some sources from http://www.mplsrc.com. By reading the internet draft, I have got some concepts about MPLS. I found some white paper from www.mplsrc.com, too. I realize that internet draft is a good reference for standard of MPLS, but internet draft doesn't contain much explaination about MPLS. I have searched for paper in the internety Web Site and i don't have enough paper to understand about MPLS clearly, designe and implementation of MPLS network. Therefore i need much more reference about MPLS, and it is so difficult to find such references in my country, Latvia. I know some books in the internet (www.amazon.com) like the book you write MPLS: Technology and Applications by Bruce S. Davie, Yakov Rekhter (Morgan Kaufmann Press): that i think very interesting, but i am just a university student in Latvia and i can not afford to buy those books. That's why i encourage myself to kindly ask for your help and i really need it to accomplish my final assignment. I hope you can give me some references that is useful to : - Where can I get RFCs or other technical document that will help me to design and planing MPLS network step by step. - Understand the basic concept of MPLS (CR-LDP, RSVP-TE, LDP, LSP, FEC, LSR, LER and IGP; OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, EGP; BGP4 etc). - Understand about Label Distribution Protocol (CR-LDP and RSVP Extension) and also how MPLS support Traffic Engineering, QoS, CoS, Diffservices. - Know about design, deployment, and management of MPLS-based networks(IP, ATM, Frame Relay, etc) If you have such references, technical document that will help me to design and planing MPLS network step by step would you please contact me via my email. Here is my contact address and email : Address : Riga, Jurmala, Bulduri, Viestura-6 Phone : 7051931. Email : Romass.Pauliks@lattelekom.lv or romass@one.lv I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. I will really appreciate your help. Thank you very much for your kind attention and support.
