Hi,

in MPLS path protection, Haskin scheme does not introduce any packet loss
but there will be packets that need reordering. whereas in Makam scheme
which is a global repair, there will be packet loss and there will be no
packets that need reordering.

Why can't we have a system that combines the operations of these two
schemes. For example, if a fault occurs, the haskin scheme will initially
reroute the packets with out packet loss after intimating the PIL of the
fault. the coming traffic to the PIL is then rerouted using Makam scheme.
This is just a doubt. Can we consider this kind of mechanism, so that we can
reduce packet loss.
