I am not exactly sure about the reason why MPLS is not officially supported in the 2500. MPLS needs CEF and I believe the 2500 does not support CEF. I have heard, on the other hand, that there are some IOS releases which run MPLS in the 2500, probably using a workaround. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong, because I am not too sure if what I said is right.
