Loopback is mostly used as "router-id".
In LDP it's used in LSR ID or in TE it's used by ISIS-TE as TE Router-id.

Some implementations is only able to create rsvp-te lsp to tunnel
destination
which is nothing more than router-id(which is almost always equal to the
loopback itself)
