Hi
Abishek,
Fair
question. Support for your particular hardware and feature set requirements can
get tricky.
I have
only the experience of building one production network
using MPLS-VPN, so I do not know it all. And I do not disagree with
what has been recommended, however I do suggest that if you have a support
contract with Cisco that you *lean* on them a little bit for the answer.
My one
experience with MPLS-VPN was that the technology turned out to be a lot easier
than getting the appropriate IOS recommendation from Cisco, however. Ultimatel
we were left on our own to figure out a solution. This is NOT a slagging session
(although it might sound a bit like it :>). Complications arose for us
because we were using VoIP to trunk between P(A)BX's (via 3660's), a well as
using NM-1E's (3660/3640/3620 as PE) for MPLS-VPN ingress/egress. It isn't
always as simple as which IOS and router model to use, I'm sorry to report.
Do you have hardware to lab a test scenario for yourself ? If not, my
recomendation is to get the vendor to prove the software/hardware combination
can support your requirements prior to paying for IOS/Memory (or for that
matter, chassis) upgrades.
best
wishes to all,
Dana
