Reddy, it is a common myth (and myths are often truth) that 95% of all computer problems are hardware issues, the physical world taking its toll. Reseating memory and modules is certainly where I would start. It doesn't cost much to do that. Make sure the inside of the case is not dusty or dirty, that the fans are working and there are no obstructions around the case. None of this costs any money, and I would certainly do that before throwing money at the box. I had a 3600 in my teaching lab that was showing no interface when I could see the card was there. The little screws were loose but the card was fully in its slot. I pulled and reseated the card, tightened the screws, and the interface appeared.

There is a cartoon in our local paper that occasionally has a computer person appear. He is dressed as a wizard, probably because what he does all looks like magic. Sometimes I believe that too, as there seems to be no other explanation. Good luck.

Roger Williams

Hi all,

In my routers from the couple of days I am facing some problem..two of 3600 series routers gets rebooted automatically..after that in the show version i am getting the following error.

" System returned to ROM by bus error at PC 0x0, address 0x0 "

the feedback of the  tech-support output from cisco is

TRY THIS: Try reseating the hardware for location 'elements', before replacing  it.

but  one export has suggested to increase the I/O mem .

Can u please suggest me how to fix the problem.

rgds,

Reddy.
