Behrooz, Either of the two links or a Google search will through up more papers than you could possibly read in a year, such as: http://whitepapers.informationweek.com/rlist/term/MPLS-(Multiprotocol-Label- Switching).html However a couple of good ones for the basics are: http://www.netcraftsmen.net/welcher/papers/mplsintro.html If you have access to Cisco equipment: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/105/mpls_faq_4649.shtml http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/105/mpls_vpn_basic.html http://www.cisco.com/global/EMEA/networkers/break_routing.htm The high level concepts are pretty easy to understand, once you get into the traffic engineering, fast-reroute mechanisms and LDP it becomes more difficult. Every vendor has their own way of doing even the standard stuff. I'm also the leader of the MPLS User Group (MUG) of the MPLS and Frame-relay Alliance, which is yet to be fully launched but is looking to provide information to Enterprise users of the technical and business benefits of MPLS (IP VPN) technology. Membership is currently based around, vendor, service provider and enterprise but I have been pushing for an academic entry level. Would this be of interest to you or your University, as the more positive support I get the more likelihood it has of happening Yours Doug -----Original Message----- From: behrooz shahgholi [mailto:bshahgholigh@yahoo.com] Sent: 16 March 2004 11:23 To: Doug Legge Subject: Re: [MPLS-OPS]: request for mpls documents hi, academic background,I am undergraduate student of computer engineering. --- Doug Legge <Doug.Legge@BerkeleyGroup.co.uk> wrote: > Behrooz, > > Forgot to ask are after info specifically from a > vendor, service provider, > enterprise or academic background? > > Doug > > -----Original Message----- > From: Doug Legge <Doug.Legge@BerkeleyGroup.co.uk> > To: 'bshahgholigh@yahoo.com' > <bshahgholigh@yahoo.com> > Sent: Mon Mar 15 09:34:04 2004 > Subject: Re: [MPLS-OPS]: request for mpls documents > > Behrooz, > > www.mplsrc.com > > www.mplsforum.com > > Any vendor sites such as: > > www.cisco.com/go/mpls > > There are also some good whitepapers I can send you > if you wish > > Doug > > > -----Original Message----- > From: behrooz shahgholi <bshahgholigh@yahoo.com> > To: mpls-ops@mplsrc.com <mpls-ops@mplsrc.com> > Sent: Mon Mar 15 09:22:22 2004 > Subject: [MPLS-OPS]: request for mpls documents > > Hi all, > > I am a beginer in MPLS and ask someone present > me sites for begining MPLS study. > > Best Regards, > > behrooz shahgholi ghahfarrokhi > > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
