Hi

my understanding that it exist 2 approach :

1) IP Vendor approach : Based on PWE WG .
2) ATM vendor approach : MPLS Gateway .

In the first approach the PE is totally transparent (just minor OAM
interworking) .
In the 2nd approach , the PE terminate the ATM PNNI (MPLS Gateway).

the question :

A) How the PE perform the MPLS gateway , in other word how it extend the
PNNI signalling
    to a remote PE ??
Any URL link is appreciated (Did not find any doc in the web which
describe the details just
    marketing brochure )

B) is point "A" above implemented per a specific standrad or it is till now
a propriatery solution ?.

C) Any paper which compare the 2 approach ?

D) what is the trend in the provider domain ?? ex: Verizon seem to adopt the
2nd approach as per the announcement of the deal with Ciena (wavesmith) .

Brgds
