Title: Re: [MPLS-OPS]: Juniper MPLS
Hi Hernan,
You need a few steps dependent on signalling you will use:
- Add “family mpls” to all the interfaces for which you would like to conduct MPLS
- Add interfaces to “edit protocols mpls”
- Add interfaces to either “edit protocols rsvp” or “edit protocols ldp”
If you use RSVP then under “edit protocols mpls” you need to define your LSP.. You will name the LSP and include the egress or destination IP address of the LSP (normally loopback).
By default Junos lsps go into inet.3 and are only used if you have BGP routes whose protocol next hop recurses to an LSP destination endpoint in this inet.3 table. So if you have BGP routes and the next-hop for those routes is a loopback that you build an LSP to then traffic will enter the LSP towards that next-hop.
Hope this helps.

Jeff,
I'm thinking of starting with a simple LSP in the Juniper network, then I'll try to go RFC2547.
Any practical example on how to do that? What should I be aware of if I configure MPLS on a Juniper that is already in service with BGP, a couple of routing instances, etc? I don't want to jeopardize inet.0 configuring MPLS.
Thank you very much in advance.

Hernán,
There are a number of ways to deploy MPLS, so you'll probably want to narrow your focus down a bit. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? If it is just setting up an LSP from point A to point Z, well, that is pretty simple. If you are wanting to setup 2547 VPNs, that isn't difficult either, but requires a bit more work and understanding of MPLS and BGP, for example.

Subject: [MPLS-OPS]: Juniper MPLS
Hi,
I'm about to start working on an MPLS project using Juniper routers.
Could anyone provide good literature with examples, tips and tricks, etc, besides what is included in Junos documentation?
Thanks in advance!
Hernán
