Thanks - your offers are much appreciated!

I don't know how much you've been following the list up to now, and
how up-to-speed you are on the current drafts.

First, if you haven't already done so, I would recommend reading the
two current WG drafts, draft-ietf-rolc-nbma-arp-00.txt and
draft-ietf-rolc-nhrp-01.txt, so you can see the general direction the
WG is heading.  In the latter, there are a number of open issues;
authentication is one of the largest. Dave Katz is currently revising
the NHRP spec based upon WG comments in Toronto. If you would like
assist Dave with some of these open issues, I suggest contacting him
directly, at dkatz@cisco.com.

If you are interested in starting a new draft to discuss multicasting
issues (or any other new topics that you feel may be inadequately
addressed in the NHRP draft), I suggest outlining a draft document on
the subject, and sending the outline to the rolc list for comments.
If you get the ip-atm list, you'll have seen some interesting
discussions there recently about how to map IP multicasting (single
LIS case) onto ATM; it would be our WG's job to extend this to the
LIS case) onto ATM; it would be our WG's job to extend this to the
multi-LIS case. For some other good background, you should read the
relevant RFCs, such as 1112 and 1584.

If you would like further background in the WG's activities, the
mailing list archives can be found via anonymous FTP to
ietf.cnri.reston.va.us, in directory /ietf-mail-archive/rolc. In this
directory, the file "rolc.arc" is the archive for all the mail sent to
the previous incarnation of this list. The new mail is in the file
"current", and is saved in separate files on a monthly basis.

The working group charter and meeting minutes can be found in the
/ietf/rolc directory on ietf.cnri.reston.va.us.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at the San Jose meeting!

Thanks again,
Andy
