Isochronous

Isochronous - Signals which are dependant on some uniform timing or carry their own timing information embedded as part of the signal. So isochronous data signals can be thought of as being "self-clocked". That is there is no spatially separate clock signal. A receiver would extract the uniform bit-rate clock from the actual data stream. Thus the two ends of a connection would run on the same clock, extracting data at a fixed (smooth) rate.
