>From March 1995 Data Communications:

14 vendors were invited to participate in its ATM Stress test and seven
did participate.

Those seven participate:

Bay Networks Lattiscell
Cisco Systems Hyperswitch A100
Digital Equipment	Gigaswitch ATM
Fore Systems Forerunner ASX-200
Lightstream Lightstream 2020
Newbridge Network	Mainstreet 36150
3Com Cellplex 7000

Fore seems to be tgetting the high marks, 3Com seems to be second except
dropping cells at high burst, DEC and Lightstream are on a second tier
and Newbridge, Cisco, and Bay Network are distant away. (this is my
calculation based on the test result shown in that article)

Seven didn't participate

Fujitsu Network Switching
General Datacomm
Hughes Network Systems
IBM
NEC
Network Equipment Technologies
Northern Telecom

As far as these seven, nobody really know why they didn't participate
except that they all are in deep trouble. Anybody would like to comment
on these switches? I heard that Fujitsu is out of the North America
market, GDC has seen its stock price nose dive to half of its price in
two months.

Another question, how about those never invited to the test? How about
Loral's CPS and TRW's ATM switches, where you think they stand?
