AAL2 has not been touched and probably won't be, either.  There is work
in
progress for a new AAL type, currently called AAL-CU (for Cell Unit, I
believe) ...  It may eventually be called AAL6 rather than AAL2.

Actually, AAL-CU has been renamed AAL2. The old AAL2 text has been
removed from the new I.363.2 specification.

ITU indicates that AAL2 is to be frozen after the February '97 meeting
of ITU SG13.
