There is a pan-European experimental ATM network (terrestrial)
called JAMES which can be used by EC-funded projects.

For the FashionNet project, we have been using 8 Mb/s VP's to link 
Belfast, Stuttgart (Via Cologne), Portugal and Dublin. We were using
it for video-conferencing and collaborative working for the Fashion
industry.
