Steve,

	The good news is that you have described a scenario which most ATM
vendors should support.  I personally prefer FORE Systems, they seem to
be in the (Sorry for upcoming pun)
forefront of ATM technologies.  They are consistantly reviewed as best
in class in the various bake-offs.  There support is excellent and thier
hardware is very reasonably priced.
Ensure that your equipment, no matter who the vendor is, supports
redundant LANE services and redundant ATM ARP servers.  Without those,
failure of those devices leads to a MUCH larger (Possibly your entire
network) outage.
