ATM Anycast capability for P2MP calls

The ATM anycast capability is meant only for the P2P calls, according to
UNI 4.0 spec, the same is substantiated with the lack of the information
elements ( like connection scope and the Connected Party Number ) in the
messages used for P2MP calls like the Add party etc.

What is the real reason behind that ?

I can think of a scenario of its( i.e Anycast for P2MP calls ) usage in
conjunction with Leaf Initiated Join. Ex : a leaf wishes to join a Video
Server ( which has an Anycast address and may be a well known LIJ Call
Id ), it can therefore avail the services by initiating an LIJ with the
address of the server. But this is not to be because of the above
restriction.

Could anybody provide more insight into it.

Thanks in advance

R S Srinath
