Voice over IP (VoIP) Q?

In order to make a VoIP connection using TCP or UDP/IP (preferably UDP)
between two gateways, my guess is a well known port # is required for
this. Is such a well known port defined?

If this is over an "Extranet" or "Intranet" (Corporate IP network) then
I guess it is something that is programmed into the gateways. Also these
gateways are from the same manufacturer, correct.

If this is over an "Internet" I guess a well known port is required fro
this application, correct.

I hope I am making sense.

Thanks..

Srikrishna..
