ATM Bus Interface

Due to my limited knowledge of ATM systems, I have to ask the following
elementary question.

I am designing a system with multiple cards accessing the same ATM bus.
There is one interface hub with about 20 individual cards where the
information flow is from the hub to the cards and visa versa (There is no
interaction  between individual cards).  Will the multiple access work like
a normal master-slave configuration or are there other options.  Is there an
industry standard on this configuration?
