Performance Limitations in IDT SAR Chips?

A client claims to have an 80Mbps limitation on the throughput of
IDT's SAR chip, using AAL5. IDT's datasheets claim wire speed.

Does any one have any relevant data/info/pointers/etc. ?

I'd be grateful for any help.
