Rick,
Trend Communications has recently launched two products: Presto
(ADSL/ATM) and Forte (ATM). Presto is an advanced ADSL tester and can
be used to replace the CPE modem. It allows testing of ADSL and ATM
layers.

You may not be able to achieve what you ask for. It is not possible to
passively monitor a DSL connection because the actual data encoded on
the line is dependant on the line adaptation used between the CPE modem
and DSLAM modem. In addition connecting something else to the DSL line
would interfer with the data connection possibly causing errors or loss
of sync. You can only monitor the ATM connection at the DSLAM using an
ATM analyzer or using Presto to replace the CPE modem.

Have a look at www.testadsl.com or www.trendcomms.com for Presto.

regards,
John McDermott
